Lone Star Holidays was established to help holiday enthusiasts build relationships with one another. Real relationships, not just the ones online (although our online forums are an awesome way to stay in touch and share ideas!). To reach that goal, we have regular gatherings. We have held workgroups in various cities across Texas. Workgroups typically have dedicated topics to ensure that our attendees have the opportunity to learn all that they can. A Lone Star Holiday’s Workgroup is a combination of teaching, socializing, and hands-on learning for the attendees.
In addition, we have a standing group called the Development Committee. Made up of individuals from all across the state, this team works together and sets up meetings, dinners, make and takes, BBQs, or whatever will help bring our current members together and stimulate new membership growth. The mission of the Development Committee is simple: bring the local members together more often while also supporting the larger Lone Star Holidays organization. We also hold several larger-scale events throughout the year. The biggest is the annual Academy. Held every year during the summer months, the Academy is a multi-day, multi-room event with over 20 classes, vendor involvement, and plenty of socialization among the attendees. Since 2008, the Academy has been THE event each year for decorators. Never compromised, never cancelled- that is the Academy promise.
