General Forum Guidelines

Although the administrators and moderators of Lone Star Holidays will attempt to keep all objectionable messages off of this forum, it is impossible for us to review all messages.  All messages express the views of the author, and neither Lone Star Holidays Inc, nor Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. will be held responsible for the content of any message. By agreeing to these rules, you warrant that you will not post any messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-oriented, hateful, threatening, or otherwise violate any laws.

A few things that make our forums a little different:

  1. Lone Star Holidays Inc reserves the right to remove, edit, move or close any thread for any reason.  While we encourage a positive environment and hope that people can come to the site to learn and share with others, we are aware that not everyone will always get along with each other.  So how do we handle these issues?:

    1. If you have a disagreement with someone, please remember that this is not the place to get into an online fight with someone simply because they disagree with you.  Make your point, accept that not everyone will agree with it, and move on to discussing holidays with people who share your values, experiences, and ideas.
    2. If you have something to say to someone that is just between the two of you, send it in a Private Message.  One important note: Lone Star Holidays does NOT read, review, or interfere in Private Messaging.  In other words, don’t send the administrators a note saying “This person said something mean to me/about me”.  We do not interfere unless there has been a direct threat of violence.
    3. If you just cannot get along with someone, no matter how hard you have tried, add them to your Ignore List.  Do not send emails asking for someone to be banned, reprimanded, etc.  The Ignore List makes sure you do not see the person’s posts or receive Private Messages from them.  It’s a simple way to say, “Thanks, but no thanks.”
  2. You will notice that the Directors, Officers, Administrators, and Moderators are listed as such on their User Title section.  This allows you to know who to contact and who is responsible for how Lone Star Holidays is run on a day-to-day basis.
  3. When you register, your first and last name will be used for your user name.  If you create a “handle” or “screen name/nickname” it will be changed to your first and last name.  We are adults here and will communicate through our real names.  If you create a “handle”,”screen name”, or “nickname” it will be changed to your first and last name.  We are adults here and will communicate through our real names.
